Overwatch 2 Season 4 is expected to kick off soon, but Blizzard is getting the party started early by revealing their next hero, Lifeweaver. The new character offers up a whole lotta’ look, sporting elaborate hair and robes with a lotus motif. Based on the style of his clothes and the buildings in the background of the first image of Lifeweaver, it seems like he hails from Thailand. Blizzard is really providing the fan artists with some fodder with this one. Check out Lifeweaver in all his glory, below.

As for Liveweaver’s abilities, specifics haven’t been shared by Blizzard yet. You won’t have to wait long to learn more, as Blizzard promises more details will be shared tomorrow. You can look forward to a hands-on preview of the character from Wccftech.

Since launching last year, Overwatch 2 has added new characters at a surprisingly regular clip. Additions have included the Canadian railgun-carrying Sojourn, the scattergun-blasting Junker Queen, the kunai and healing-talisman-wielding Kiriko. Lifeweaver is the first male Overwatch 2 character, and not one many anticipated. Other possible heroes have been leaked, but Lifeweaver wasn’t one of them.

Haven’t been keeping up with Overwatch 2? The game is now free-to-play, with players being able to unlock new heroes via seasonal battle passes. Of course, you can also pay to unlock them quicker. At launch, Wccftech’s Ule Lopez questioned the game’s monetization, but had no issues with its gameplay

“If we focus on Overwatch 2’s core gameplay aspects, the game is 100% fine by me. I will definitely come back and play it a few times if I don’t have much to do. How will the meta transcend in terms of its competitive scene, or how will the player base treat it once it goes live? Well, we’ll have to see the results once the game goes live.”

Overwatch can be played on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. Blizzard has not yet announced a launch date for Overwatch 2 Season 4, but it’s expected to kick off early this month. What do you think? Even though we’ve just seen a peek, are you excited to play as Lifeweaver?
