Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced with its rebuilt parkour and combat has long been one of the worst-kept gaming secrets of the current console generation due to so many leaks over the years, but there's a second series remake that could earn the honor in the future. Following reports that Ubisoft is remaking other entries in its popular series besides its acclaimed fourth entry, known YouTuber and reliable series leaker j0nathan revealed that the very first Assassin's Creed game is getting a full remake.

Unfortunately, the leaker didn't add much else on the matter other than that they have known since 2023. However, this is still enough for fans of the series to get excited about.

Although Assassin's Creed Mirage brought the series back to its roots, delivering an experience closer to the first few entries before it became a full-blown open-world action RPG, the first entry still has a unique yet rough flair that hasn't been replicated in subsequent entries. As such, it will be very interesting to see how that somewhat restrictive formula will be updated and if it will retain these unique features that make the original Assassin's Creed feel so different from the rest of the series.

Thankfully, there's a good chance we may not have to wait too long to see this Assassin's Creed in action. With 2027 marking the 20th anniversary of the series, launching this remake next year would be the perfect way to celebrate a franchise that has, for better or worse, influenced gaming as a whole since its release.
