OpenAI has been making some big strides since it arrived and from the looks of it, we are sure that the company does not want to stop. It has managed to make a lot of other big companies actually start embracing the modern ways, and that is something that we thought would be impossible. If you look at it, ChatGPT was the first chatbot to kick off and was also responsible for everything Google and Microsoft did in the world of AI. Now, Google Search Engine might need to look over its shoulder as some information suggests that the creator of ChatGPT is working on their own search engine.

OpenAI could force Google Search to start bringing AI to the search engine, as the former is working on its search engine

The Information has reported that OpenAI is currently working on a "web search product," the publication cites someone familiar with the plans. At the time of inception, this search engine could be powered by Microsoft Bing, but that could change after it finally starts getting the traction it needs.

Sadly, the source does not share a lot of details, and we are not sure if this new OpenAI search engine is going to operate independently, away from ChatGPT. It is also worth noting that if you are subscribed to ChatGPT Plus, you can actually use the Browse with Bing feature. So, the company's plans could take things to the next level and make it a more prominent feature for everyone to use.

Provided OpenAI starts working on this, it will easily be the biggest hurdle for the company. Google is a beast when it comes to search engines, and for as long as I can remember. A lot of search engines tried taking the fight to Google and lost, and I don't think that this is going to change any time soon. At the same time, however, I am glad that the company is working on a search engine that could rival Google's own offering because that will mean that Google, the most dominant search engine, will need to ensure it has all the features that it needs to stay up to date and does not fall behind in the race.

I am not sure how far this progress is going to go with OpenAI and its race to create its own search engine. However, if the company decides to put in the effort, I am pretty sure that something will come up, and we will soon have something stellar at hand. I just hope that the company keeps working on this innovation as it will push Google and other players in the field to innovate even more.
