NVIDIA has reportedly halted the supply of its mainstream GeForce RTX 4060 Ti & RTX 4060 GPUs to AIB partners.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti & RTX 4060 GPU Supply Temporarily Halted But It Shouldn't Be A Cause of Concern For Gamers
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti & RTX 4060 GPUs are among some of the most popular choices for gamers due to their price points. The graphics cards are available in ample supply across the global retail segment but it looks like the green team is planning to limit the supply soon.
The information comes from Chinese Board Channels where it is reported that NVIDIA is planning to temporarily halt the supply of its GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti GPUs. These GPUs feature two different GPU cores, the AD107 for the RTX 4060 and the AD106 for the RTX 4060 Ti. The supply is said to be halted for about 2 weeks which is not a lot of time & this isn't the same discontinuation process as the RTX 4090 & RTX 4090D GPUs.
Based on the information available, the supply is being halted to AIBs as an inventory correction measure and nothing more. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 & RTX 4060 Ti feature standard GDDR6 memory modules so they aren't affected by the G6X supply shortages as the RTX 4070 Non-SUPER GPU which saw the release of a GDDR6 variant.
NV is looking at the supply situation of AIC brands, and it is estimated that the supply of some RTX40 models may be further reduced, or even suspended, so some RTX40 logistics models should be aware of the shortage.
It is rumored that NV has suddenly stopped supplying 4060\4060TI series GPUs for two weeks in response to the supply situation of AIC brands. The specific reason is unknown.

For gamers, this shouldn't be concerning as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti has ample amounts of stock at retailers and distributors around the globe and AIB partners have enough chips that even a 2-week supply halt will not change things much. So don't worry about prices going up or the GPUs being out of stock as that is most likely not going to be the case.
As of right now, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 takes up the second position on the Steam hardware survey with the RTX 4060 laptop taking up 3rd spot and the RTX 4060 Ti taking up 4th spot. The RTX 3060 leads on the Steam database though the RTX 4060 is gaining more traction and should end up replacing its predecessor within this quarter.
