NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU has now surfaced online on an LG laptop, validating the SKU's existence and revealing subtle details about the model.

NVIDIA's RTX 5050 Might Feature Pin-To-Pin Compatibility With The GeForce RTX 4050, Allowing Easier Integration

Well, at the CES 2025 showcase, we did see NVIDIA's next-gen RTX 50 mobile platform, where models such as the GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, 5070 Ti & 5070 GPUs were unveiled, but we really didn't get a glimpse of the relatively lower end 50-class and 60-class SKUs. However, according to information by @BullsLab, we now know that LG is preparing a laptop model, notably the 2025 Gram, to feature NVIDIA's RTX 5050 GPU, but the device won't be equipped with it at launch and instead will feature the RTX 4050 counterpart.

It is claimed that NVIDIA originally planned to release the RTX 5050 GPU at the CES 2025 showcase but later changed its plans, which is why LG's promotional material mentions the SKU. Given that LG Gram 2025 will also have an RTX 5050 model in the future, it is safe to assume that the 50-class series will have pin-to-pin compatibility. This means that the GPUs will share the same physical connection and power requirements, allowing LG to make the upgrade much more quickly.

In terms of what to expect with the GeForce RTX 5050 mobile GPU, it is said to feature 8GB GDDR7 memory, along with the GB207 silicon. The SKU is codenamed is "GN22-X2" and that is pretty much we know about the model. It is certain that performance and efficiency would see a decent improvement, given that in a recent leak, it was claimed that the GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU will compete with the RTX 4070 counterpart, a class ahead, and this could reflect with the RTX 5050 as well.

For now, NVIDIA plans to launch only four models of the RTX 50 series mobile platform, with the remaining models expected to debut in the coming months.
