Another day, another rumor debunked, and this time by NVIDIA itself who stated to us that RTX 50 Founders Edition GPUs continue to be in production.
NVIDIA Debunks RTX 50 Founders Edition "Discontinuation & EOL" Rumors, All FE Cards In Production
A few days ago, we posted an article about how the upcoming NVIDIA RTX 50 SUPER series won't be launching anytime soon. This was to dismiss some rumors claiming that the launch of these GPUs will happen as early as next month. There was no legitimacy to this rumor, as NVIDIA never shared any information with its partners regarding a launch plan. There were also reports saying that the launch had been delayed after we published our story, which was also false, considering NVIDIA never made an official announcement, nor were there any plans for a 2025 launch to begin with.
Now, another false story has been built up in which the recent removal of the RTX 50 "Founders Edition" GPUs is being considered as a "Discontinuation" or "EOL" process of existing cards to make room for an upcoming launch. Once again, this is exactly what we thought would happen, and once again, there's no proof to back up the claim.
However, this time, NVIDIA has come to us directly and offered a statement regarding the matter. All in all, the rumor about the discontinuation/EOL of the RTX 50 series was fake
GeForce RTX 50 series Founders Editions continue to be in production. They are limited edition products so, from time to time, go out of stock on our website and return when back in stock.

Founders Edition GPUs have always been a "Limited Edition" product; as such, NVIDIA removes the FE cards from its online store whenever they run out of stock. This isn't the first time that the FE cards were removed due to "OOS". The previous-generation RTX 40 series also saw the removal of Founders Edition cards when stock ran out, and were relisted after they were restocked.
Current status of NVIDIA's RTX 50 Founders Edition GPUs at Online Store (9/14/25):
- RTX 5090 FE - Out of Stock
- RTX 5080 FE - Out of Stock
- RTX 5070 Ti FE - No FE Variant Made
- RTX 5070 FE - Available at MSRP ($549)
- RTX 5060 Ti FE - No FE Variant Made
- RTX 5060 FE - No FE Variant Made
- RTX 5050 FE - No FE Variant Made
NVIDIA also confirms that the GeForce RTX 5090 series and Founders Edition cards continue to be in full production. This debunks the theory that the RTX 50 "SUPER" launch is close and that the existing cards are going to be discontinued. You don't continue "full production" on a product that will be replaced by something in a few months; your partners will be affected by inventory issues.
Also, NVIDIA's "SUPER" series generally replaces the non-SUPER variants, so if NVIDIA isn't ending production on these cards, that more or less means they don't plan on replacing them for some time. With that said, it's not like we don't expect an RTX 50 SUPER launch; we have reported about them in leaks/rumors, but we don't believe the rumors going on about their launch or prices since those are all made-up stories with zero evidence, because neither has been decided by NVIDIA or communicated to any partner.
