NVIDIA Expects AI Industry to Fly To The $600 Billion Mark, Credits to GenAI Race

NVIDIA has emerged as the leader in the chip industry, as Team Green takes over the likes of Qualcomm as the top IC design company. The catalyst, as expected, is described as the "AI hype".

NVIDIA Secures The Top Spot As The Company Witnesses Revenue Surge In Previous Quarters

NVIDIA has crossed all industry forecasts, mainly due to the wave of genAI, which led the company's revenues to new heights. The IC industry, in general, witnessed significant revenue generation, with TrendForce reporting a 12.5% quarterly bump. The figures have reached US $38.1 billion, with NVIDIA now taking the industry's reigns. It surpasses Qualcomm, which is experiencing dwindling sales due to low smartphone sales since the year is halfway through the industry's "upgrade cycle".

The news isn't unexpected since NVIDIA's sales, especially those related to AI, are currently at their peak. We have reported humongous figures in the past, and with the company's aim to ship 1.5 million to 2 million units of its famous H100 AI GPUs, it looks like we still have to see a lot more. NVIDIA isn't the only beneficiary here since the companies associated with it have also reaped the benefits of the "AI boom" as well. TrendForce discloses that TSMC and Samsung saw a decent quarterly performance as well, as accredited to vast volumes of orders from NVIDIA.

Now, speaking about others, AMD is currently situated in the corner since Team Red cannot capitalize on the "AI bandwagon". It is reported that AMD has seen a steady flow of revenue, amounting to $5.36 billion. The company is late to the party and is yet to see its AI products seeing a "noticeable" entry in the market. NVIDIA-AMD is currently moving in totally opposite directions, and the only way the playing field could be leveled is through an "aggressive" approach, which is what the CEO Lisa Su has committed.

It is fair to say that FY23 belongs to NVIDIA now that we are reaching to the very end. With impressive figures coupled with indicators for immense future demand, Team Green is well set to see records getting broken, and in the midst of it, AMD and others are watching themselves getting sidelined.
