The Nothing Phone 2a is finally here after countless leaks and rumors. The phone offers a lower price than both the previous devices the company has released and still manages to deliver exceptional value for money in almost every category.
The Nothing Phone 2a is a robust value king, but you might not be able to get your hands on it
The Nothing Phone 2a comes with the first-ever internal smartphone design concept that the company has been working on for the past four years. The dual camera system, which is sitting right inside the NFC coil, is the main element here. Nothing is calling it "the eyes". The back panel seamlessly wraps around the edges at a 90-degree angle, which the company claims is good for drop resistance. The phone will be available in three colors this time, including Black, White, and "Milk."
The iconic Glyph Interface lighting returns with Nothing Phone 2a, and even though it is not as flashy as it was on the previous devices, the three lights comprise 26 individually addressable zones. You will be able to use these three lights for Glyph Timer, notifications, Glyph Torch, and Glyph Progress.
The Nothing Phone 2a uses MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro. Nothing claims that the company worked closely with MediaTek to make sure that it is optimized for the phone. It uses TSMC's 4nm fabrication process and has a max speed of 2.8GHz.
The phone also comes with a sizeable 6.78-inch 10-bit AMOLED display with 1,300 nits of peak brightness and a 30-120Hz variable refresh rate. The phone is running Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14, and the Nothing Phone 2a will get three years of Android updates and four years of security patches.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Nothing Phone 2a is the fact that the cameras remain unchanged from previous generations of devices. You are getting a dual 50-megapixel camera on the rear, with one taking the ultra-wide responsibility. There is also a 32-megapixel camera on the front.
The Nothing Phone 2a also has a 5,000 mAh battery, making it the biggest battery in the portfolio. The battery also charges at a respectable 45W, and Nothing even talks about how the battery will be able to hold 90% of its capacity after 1,000 charging cycles, which means that you will be able to enjoy the device for over three years without actually running into any problems as far as the battery is concerned.
The Nothing Phone 2a is finally available for pre-order from the website, and it will be shipping starting March 12. The phone is not going to be available in the U.S., sadly, but developers can fill out a form that will allow them to buy the device. However, the phone does not have the required network bands for the North American region, so you might run into some issues as far as reception is concerned.
You can get the Nothing Phone 2a in two variants, with the base 8/128GB variant starting at €329/£319 and the 12/256GB variant starting at €379/£349. The phone is available in black, white, and milk, and you can go ahead and pre-order it as we speak.
