Nintendo has been pretty much synonymous with console videogames for over forty years, thus securing a huge and extremely loyal fanbase that keeps loving and purchasing its consoles and games. Sometimes, you can find some of its most hardcore fans in the most unexpected places - such as Hollywood. Academy Award winner Brie Larson, for instance, is a huge Nintendo aficionado, as she confessed to The Hollywood Reporter.

Video games are like the thing that’s connected me to my sister. My mom says her favorite sound is hearing me and my sister laughing while we’re playing video games together. I think I’ve probably played every Nintendo game that’s ever come out at this point, and so it’s just part of my life. It always has been. It’s never gotten old for me.

Larson, who recently starred as the main character in Apple's miniseries Lessons in Chemistry, was speaking at a Nintendo event hosted in New York City for the upcoming launch of Princess Peach: Showtime!, so the actress also commented on the character.

It’s just amazing when you have a character that you’ve grown up with your whole life and to be like, 'Wow, I’m still so into this'. It’s great to join her in her journey. I’ve just loved her my whole life, so to see her have this stand-alone game and not just that but to have all these different facets and different characters and her own gameplay is just a thrill.

Princess Peach: Showtime! is an Unreal Engine 4 powered action/adventure game slated to launch for the Nintendo Switch on March 22. It's the first game to feature the titular character since Super Princess Peach, which launched in 2005 for the Nintendo DS. She's joined by her sidekick Stella; together, they'll face off against the main villain, Wicked Grape.

To do so, she'll be able to transform into Swordfighter Peach, Detective Peach, Patissier Peach, Kung Fu Peach, Ninja Peach, Cowgirl Peach, Figure Skater Peach, Dashing Thief Peach, Mermaid Peach, and Mighty Peach. Each transformation comes with its own unique abilities, of course.
