New World Gets New Season and Gamepad Support Next Month

Today, Amazon Games announced the fifth Season coming to the MMORPG New World. Season of the Guardian will officially begin on March 12, adding a new Seasonal Trial called Winter Forge where groups of up to 10 max level players will have to overcome Rune puzzles, slay an Icey Construct, and face an Ancient Ice Guardian to get 'unique rewards'.

This fifth season also adds eight new Artifacts to New World: the Hatchet Sin, the Spear Venom, the Great Axe Tempest Fury, the Medium Chest Nature's Wrath, the Heavy Glove Gilli's Gravity Gauntlets, the Heavy Leggings Ironheart, the Light Footwear Creed Boots, and the Amulet Phoenix.

Players can also look forward to the following additions and improvements:

That's not all. Amazon Games has updated the combat and animation system to improve performance when multiple players are fighting in the same environment, such as in Wars. Mounts are now available for use in the Outpost Rush. Last but not least, the main story has been fully overhauled following the community's feedback.

The PTR with the season 5 patch will go live on February 14.
