Sony has announced the 'regular' new PS5 Spider-Man 2 bundle, which will launch alongside the game later this month.

Sony announced the arrival of the new bundle through Twitter just now. "The New PlayStation 5 Console – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Bundle will be available starting Oct 20", the tweet from the official PlayStation Twitter account reads. As said, this is a 'regular' bundle and includes a copy of the game, a PS5 disc-version console, and a standard white DualSense controller. This is a separate Spider-Man 2 bundle aside from the previously announced limited edition bundle that features a black-and-red PlayStation 5 console decorated with the Spider symbol and iconic Venom-inspired tendrils. In addition, this limited edition bundle packs a new red-and-black DualSense controller as well as a digital copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Of course, you can also get this new 'regular' Spider-Man 2 PS5 bundle and try to get your hands on the Spider-Man 2 PS5 faceplates to decorate the console. Sony is also selling its Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition DualSense controller separately. As such, you can create your own PS5 Spider-Man 2 'limited' bundle in case you haven't been able to order Sony's official limited edition console.

No pricing details were shared, but recent PS5 bundles have been selling for $499.99.

Spider-Man 2 launches later this month on October 20. As covered earlier, Sony and Insomniac will be announcing new exclusive in-game suits during New York Comic Con on October 12. Insomniac's Spider-Man sequel will offer a somewhat darker 'story. Back in 2021, Marvel Games Vice President Bill Rosemann compared the sequel to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. "So, yea", he said on a podcast in 2021. "It’s Miles, it’s Peter, it’s Venom, it’s a mysterious voice. It’s everything you love, but more.”

He continued, "And I would say if the first Spider-Man was Star Wars, Spider-Man 2 is kind of our Empire [Strikes Back]. It’s a little darker."

Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to Insomniac's 2018 Spider-Man for PlayStation 4. This game later received a PS5 version in the form of the Remastered edition.
