French publisher NACON, the company behind releases like last year's Hell is Us and upcoming titles like Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss has had quite a wild week. A week ago today, the company announced it would be hosting a NACON Connect showcase to show off its upcoming releases and give players a tease of what's coming for 2026 and beyond.

Two days later, the company filed for insolvency following a major issue with its majority shareholder, Bigben Interactive. The future of the company and the games it is currently set to publish were put into question, and it became unclear if NACON would live to see out the remainder of 2026 with liquidation now a very real possibility if it can't resolve its financial troubles.

Today, the situation is just as unclear, but we do have an answer on one topic: NACON will be postponing its upcoming NACON Connect. In a statement shared to X (formerly Twitter), the company began by saying, "You may have seen reports about NACON's financial situation," before addressing it as "a difficult moment for us."

"Yes, things are challenging," the statement continues. "No, this is not the end."

The statement continues to explain that the company will postpone this week's event, which initially would have taken place in two days from the time of this writing, and that it will "work even harder on the launch of upcoming games and unveil the new games once our situation will be stabilized."

It adds that the release schedule for upcoming titles, which includes the aforementioned Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, as well as The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, Edge of Memories, Terminator: Survivors, Endurance Motorsport Series, Hunting Simulator 3 and Gear.Club Unlimited 3 remains "on track," and that it still has "many projects in development."

Currently, The Cosmic Abyss is the only one of NACON's unreleased titles with a specific release date, while The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, Terminator: Survivors, and Edge of Memories all just have 2026 release windows. The rest of its announced titles do not have release windows.

More significant than the publisher's release schedule is its portfolio of studios it owns. If NACON were to be taken down the road to liquidation, the following 12 studios would be impacted:

  • Nacon Studio Milan
  • Big Ant Studios
  • Daedalic Entertainment
  • Cyanide
  • Midgar Studio
  • RaceWard Studio
  • Neopica
  • Ishtar Games
  • Crea-ture Studios
  • Eko Software
  • Kylotonn
  • Spiders
