There is apparently a conflict between what NVIDIA told us about the launch of GeForce RTX 5050 and what its board partners are planning.
MSI Lists Gaming RTX 5050 8G Shadow 2X OC on Amazon Ahead of Launch; Page Reveals Launch Date of Tomorrow
NVIDIA revealed its GeForce RTX 5050 on 24th June, and if you are aware, then you might also know that NVIDIA said it will launch the GPU for a retail launch in "late July". This means we are at least 2-3 weeks away from seeing the GPU on the shelves, but apparently, one of its board partners has suddenly changed the launch date, at least as per what we can see on one of the biggest NA retailers.
As reported by Videocardz, MSI has listed its GeForce RTX 5050 8G Shadow 2X OC on Amazon.com at a price tag of $279. As you can see, the page reveals that the product will be released on "July 1, 2025", which is weeks before NVIDIA's announced retail launch. It's unclear why NVIDIA has rescheduled its launch to 1st July, as it still says "second-half of July" as its launch date on the official website.

We previously reported that NVIDIA has apparently ordered its board partners to launch the desktop RTX 5050 on 1st July, but that was limited to China, and the report wasn't official. Looks like NVIDIA wants to just get the launch done tomorrow, and if MSI is ready to launch its RTX 5050 editions, then other vendors must be ready as well. GIGABYTE, ASUS, ZOTAC, and other board partners must have also prepared for the retail launch, but it's unclear whether the AIBs will be able to manage the supply with such a sudden decision.
Nonetheless, if indeed the release date on the product page on Amazon is not a typo, then be ready to see the card on shelves as well as reviews coming out very soon. The Gaming RTX 5050 8G Shadow 2X OC is priced $30 higher than the reference model, and is a factory-overclocked edition with a boost clock of up to 2617 MHz in Extreme Performance mode and up to 2602 MHz in Boost mode. For comparison, this is a slight increase over the 2570 MHz of boost clock on the reference design and should make the MSI card a bit faster.

The GPU features 8 GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit memory bus. For display, there are three DP 2.1a ports and one HDMI 2.1b port. It's a dual-slot card with a single 8-pin power connector, but MSI has more premium editions in its arsenal with better heatsinks and higher clock speeds. So, it's possible to see price tags going as high as $300, which is the MSRP of the GeForce RTX 5060 as well.
