MSI showcased several new MPG & MAG monitors, featuring different screen sizes, specifications, and features to cater to various demands.
Rapid IPS, Rapid TN, QD-OLED, and Dual-Mode Displays: MSI Had a Lot to Show at Computex As Part of Its MPG & MAG Lineups
Out of most display manufacturers, MSI had probably the highest number of monitors to showcase at the event, which is currently going on in Taipei. Apart from producing computer components, the company seems to be focusing a lot on peripherals these days. Surely, going toe to toe with the top monitor manufacturers can be a bit challenging, but MSI looked confident by unveiling at least seven new gaming monitors at the event.
The company mainly focused on high-end QD-OLED gaming monitors but didn't turn a blind eye to the more affordable segment. Starting with the premium offerings, MSI showcased five different QD-OLED gaming monitors, featuring either 3rd gen or 4th gen QD-OLED panels. Just like other monitor makers, MSI too, uses Samsung's QD-OLED panels to achieve great visuals and high responsiveness.
The MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 and MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 are MSI's fastest QD-OLED gaming monitors that enables a 500 Hz refresh rate at 2560x1440p resolution on a 26.5-inch screen. Being a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 and VESA ClearMR 21000 certified display, it is one of the flagship offerings that is incredibly bright and excellent in image quality. That said, MSI has a 27-inch variant with the 4th-gen QD-OLED panel, called MPG 272URX QD-OLED, which boasts a 3840x2160p resolution and can run at up to 240Hz refresh rate.
These two monitors bring the same 0.03ms of GtG response time and offer MSI's OLED Care 2.0 for preventing image burn-in. The 272URX brings better connectivity and an upgraded DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20) that delivers up to 80 Gbps of bandwidth. Nonetheless, each of these displays is ideal for a fast-paced or vivid gaming experience.
MSI's MPG 322URX QD-OLED is almost identical to the 272URX but has a bigger 31.5-inch screen size if you want a more immersive experience. The fifth one is the MAG 272QPW QD-OLED X28, which is a 280Hz gaming monitor with a 3rd-gen QD-OLED panel. It's a more affordable alternative to the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 and has some downgraded features.
In the upper mid-range category, we have the MSI MPG 274URDFW E16M, which is a 27-inch Rapid IPS monitor that offers a dual-mode configuration. It can display both UHD@160Hz and FHD@320Hz modes for those who would like to switch resolutions for either better visual fidelity or fast-paced gaming. It's twice as fast as regular fast IPS displays and offers G-Sync compatibility for tear-free gaming.
The last one is the MPG 242R X60N, catered specifically for esports enthusiasts. Made using a Rapid TN panel on a 24-inch screen size, the monitor offers a staggering 600Hz refresh rate at 1080p resolution with just 0.1ms of GtG response time. It supports KVM and a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is loved by a lot of CS professionals.
