MSI Silently Increases Prices Of Its GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPUs: Now Starting at $819 1

NVIDIA's board partners are now increasing the MSRPs of their RTX 50 series GPUs, particularly the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti as spotted on MSI's website.

MSI's Premium GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPUs Touch $1000 Price Mark as it Silently Increases Their MSRPs

The situation regarding the stock availability and pricing of NVIDIA's latest Blackwell Gaming GPUs is dire. On the one hand, NVIDIA is supposedly creating a scarcity of its RTX 50 series GPUs, and, on the other, its AIBs are increasing the prices of their custom editions.

While we are yet to see GPUs become widely available in the market, AIBs have already started to create a norm where every GPU is going to sell way beyond its announced MSRP. The latest example is MSI, which has silently increased the price tags of all of its GeForce RTX 5070 Ti editions.

The GPU was launched roughly two weeks ago at $749. This is the price for the Founders Edition as well as the base cards by most vendors. MSI too has base cards like the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G Shadow 3X, which is now put at $819.99 for sale ($70 higher price). The prices of all the custom MSI RTX 5070 Ti editions are available on MSI's official website, and it's mind-boggling to see the cards go as high as $999.

This is the price tag of the GeForce RTX 5080 FE and considering that the RTX 5070 Ti is noticeably slower, the value doesn't exist anymore. The Shadow 3X is the base model from MSI, featuring stock clock speeds, and if you want something a bit faster, like the RTX 5070 Ti 16G Shadow 3X OC that comes with a 30 MHz higher clock, you will have to pay $20 more.

Go a bit higher, then the price of the Ventus 3X OC starts at $899. From here, we are only going $900 and up for custom editions. These include cards like the RTX 5070 Ti 16G Inspire 3X OC Plus, priced at $929, RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC Plus for $969, RTX 5070 Ti 16G Vanguard SOC for $979, and the limited RTX 5070 Ti 16G Vanguard SOC Launch edition at $999.

It's insane to think that GPUs don't even exist properly, and we are already having price increments. This could not go any more wrong at a time when AMD is about to launch its direct competitor at $599. Hopefully, the Radeon RX 9070 XT sees good availability and pricing, so that we can really have something that delivers better value for the price compared to the previous generation.
