The MTT X300 will replace the S50, which uses the first-generation MUSA cores and will be drastically faster in professional workloads.

Moore Threads' MTT X300 Debuts with Identical Specs as MTT S80 But Focuses On The Workstation GPU Segment

The Chinese hardware manufacturer Moore Threads has unveiled its brand-new workstation GPU, the "MTT X300." This GPU is the successor to the first-gen MTT S50, which uses first-gen MUSA cores and is an entry-level workstation GPU. Unlike the MTT S50, the MTT X300 offers superior specifications and features to handle modern applications.

On the official website, the page for the X300 is live, but the actual GPU render or pic is missing. Nonetheless, what matters is its specifications, which look much more impressive than its predecessor. We don't know if this is the final spec sheet because it is entirely identical to the MTT S80, which is a dedicated gaming card and the first PCI-E 5.0 GPU in the world.

MTT X300 specs

It's possible that the MTT X300 is an MTT S80 variant, but for professional loads, it will have a different firmware and drivers. It is equipped with 4096 Musa Cores, twice the count on the S50, and 16 GB GDDR6 memory, which is also twice the memory capacity on the S50. The memory bandwidth is 448 GB/s, and the PCI-E interface is Gen 5.0. The operating TDP is 255W, which is three times higher than the S50, and so is the FP32 performance, which comes out to be 14.4 TFLOPS vs 5.2 TFLOPS on the latter.

Technically, the MTT X300 should be a slimmer card than the MTT S80, but the specs show identical measurements of 285mm x 112mm x 49mm. We will wait for Moore Threads for more updates to see if the X300 is really identical in dimensions to the S80.

As far as its features go, the X300 supports the x86, Arm, and LoongArch architectures and supports faster computing and acceleration of the GIS application. The GPU can support 36 channels of 1080p@30Fps for video decoding and encoding and supports AV1, H.264, H.265, VP8, VP9, AVS, AVS2, MPEG4, MPEG2 decoding as well as AV1, H.264, H.265 encoding.

Moore Threads claims that the MTT X300 is up to 2.0x faster than the S50 in GLMark2, up to 2.9x faster in Glx-Gears, and up to 2.8x faster in Unigine Heaven. It can support up to 8K displays, making it much more capable of handling high-end displays than the S50. It can also support up to 4x monitors at the same time. We will update you as soon as we get the pricing and availability info on this card.
