Monster Hunter: World will be the first major entry in Capcom’s popular franchise to appear on PC. Yes, the Japan-only Monster Hunter Frontier MMOs have been released for PC, but, until now, the core series has only appeared on Sony and Nintendo platforms. It’s a welcome move, but fans have been a bit frustrated about the lack of details about the PC version of Monster Hunter: World.
Well, thankfully, Monster Hunter: World producer Ryozo Tsujimoto just dropped a crucial tidbit of info – a rough PC release date:

“[Monster Hunter: World] is almost out, with the console version going on sale around the world [this January]. I hope you're looking forward to it! As for the PC version, we're working hard on it, and aiming for an Autumn 2018 release. We'll update you with more details later and thank you for your patience.”
That’s a bit of a wait for PC gamers, but it sounds like Capcom is at least putting the proper effort in, so hopefully this is better than some of their past PC ports. It will be interesting to see how well the Monster Hunter experience translates to PC – I think it could work quite well. Tsujimoto also confirmed players can look forward to free Monster Hunter: World post-launch content:
“We're also planning to bring updates to Monster Hunter: World after launch, including new monsters, so you've got lots to look forward to! Thanks for watching and have a great 2018!”
In addition to the free updates, Capcom also previously confirmed Monster Hunter: World won’t have microtransactions or loot boxes. Kudos to Capcom for such an old-school, sensible approach.
Monster Hunter: World rampages onto Xbox One and PS4 on January 26.
