Microsoft blames the continuous increase in prices for the memory and components (most likely SSDs), which has forced Microsoft to adjust the prices for its current Surface lineup. As of now, only two Surface devices remain under $1,000, but now they both received a $250-$300 price hike. This includes the Surface Pro 12-inch and the Surface Laptop 13-inch, which used to cost $799 and $899 in 2025, respectively. Both of them will now ship with $1,049 and $1,199 price tags, respectively.

For mid-range options such as the Surface Pro 13-inch, the new price tag will be $500 higher compared to the launch price. While the device received a $200 price hike in 2025, another price hike of $300 awaits. With Snapdragon X Plus, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB SSD, this is now one of the most expensive Surface devices at the moment. Similarly, both the Surface Laptop 13.8 and 15-inch models have received similar hikes, rising up to $1,599.
