Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launched late this summer on August 28, 2025, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, without its announced multiplayer mode, Fox Hunt. We learned a little before Snake Eater's release that Fox Hunt would not arrive alongside the rest of the game, and now that day is finally here, marked with a new gameplay trailer showcasing the mode.

The PvP stealth-action mode leans on all the stealth mechanics in the core Snake Eater campaign, and challenges players to make use of everything in Snake's toolbox as they try to be the sneakiest Fox Unit operative there ever was.

Fox Hunt puts up to twelve players in the jungle in two game modes: Survival Capture and Survival Intrude. In Survival Capture, players will have to hunt for and obtain Kerotan Frogs before enemy players, while Survival Intrude sees players face off against each other as the play space shrinks, almost like a tactical stealth battle royale.

The new mode is a nice treat and a solid reason for players to return to Snake Eater after having completed the main story, which is really the core offering for this remake, even if it doesn't support crossplay, nor will crossplay support likely be added in the future.

Even without Fox Hunt, when we reviewed this new remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 at launch, Wccftech's Kai Tatsumoto gave the game a 9.4/10, writing, "Apropos of nothing, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is the de facto perfect way to experience the rise and fall of Big Boss. Each detail has been meticulously refined and brought to modern standards while leaving nothing behind in the past. While this also means retaining both the campiness and jank, there’s no better way to experience the first Metal Gear Solid title in the timeline."
