Companies are working arduously to advance their technology, find ways to innovate, and make users' experiences with their devices seamless. Meta is no different and continuously focuses on evolving its Meta AI. This time around, it is developing a Chat Memory feature that aims to make responses more relevant by remembering details shared during chats on WhatsApp. This capability would help improve interactions by making the virtual assistant more intuitive with its ability to remember details and base its responses on them.

Meta AI is working on a new Chat Memory capability that will remember details from WhatsApp conversations

WhatsApp users who use the Meta AI assistant to fetch information find themselves reiterating preferences and details, which sometimes serves as a hassle rather than a facility. To better address this problem and make the process more seamless, Meta is currently working on a new feature that will bring out its A game. WABetaInfo spotted the new memory feature in the latest WhatsApp beta version for Android (2.24.22.9).

According to the report, the feature would enable Meta AI more by remembering chats' specifics and removing the need to feed the information repetitively. Users would then have a more personalized experience through the more relevant and customized responses. This advancement would help establish Meta AI as a personal assistant and drastically improve user experience with the chatbot.

So, for WhatsApp users, if you struggle with remembering important occasions or deadlines and want to save up a conversation to look at later on, Meta AI plans to extend this ability to you. Users can choose which information to share and even can give instructions regarding which information not to save up, ensuring they have full control over what information is being retained. There is little clarity on whether the information collected from WhatsApp would be available for other platforms, such as Facebook or Instagram if the accounts are linked.

The feature is currently in development and available for beta testers using the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.22.9. Although the new capability has been spotted, we have sparse information on when it will be available or the possible release time.
