MercurySteam Working On Projects To Be Unveiled Very Soon, Way Before E3

Feb 12, 2016 at 03:58pm EST

Spanish studio MercurySteam, mainly known for its work on the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow trilogy (Lords of Shadow 1&2 + Mirror of Fate), has confirmed in a series of tweets to be working on multiple projects. They should be announced very soon, too, and a lot earlier than at E3 2016.

MercurySteam also confirmed that none of those projects is a new Castlevania game for Nintendo 3DS, anyway.

The official website has been stuck with the following status for months:

Exploring new worlds, fighting strange creatures, discovering new heroes. Expect news soon.

Given the background image, rumors started circulating about the studio working on a new CONTRA game, but nothing has been confirmed since.

It's also interesting to note that Dave Cox, Executive Producer of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow games, just yesterday mentioned on Twitter that he also has big news coming on "AAA games".

Dave Cox left Konami in August 2014, but when I asked him if this had to do with the new game by MercurySteam he liked the tweet, not to mention he had previously retweeted MercurySteam's teases about their new projects.

Stay tuned on Wccftech and we'll be sure to provide official news on this topic as soon as possible.
