Nintendo has rolled out Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Update 3.0.0, including new character stats, tweaks, fixes, and adding support for Booster Course Pass Wave 6.
The new wave of courses is be the final one that is being released as part of Nintendo's booster DLC and includes two new cups, eight courses, four characters, and 17 new Mii racing suits. Aside from adding support for this paid DLC (also avaialble for free as part of Switch Online + Expansion Pack), this new update packs some new features, including a new Music button on the game's top menu as well as a feature where other players who aren’t friends can join in a Room. There are also some fixes for issues that have been encountered. You can check out Nintendo's official release notes for this update here.
As said, this brand-new update also contains balance changes and new character statistics for Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Pauline, and Peachette. We've included the balance and character changes below (via Mario Kart Blog):

Balance changes:
- Streetle, Landship, Pipe Frame, Varmint, City Tripper, Comet, and W 25 Silver Arrow have had their Invincibility statistic increased by a value of 0.25 (1 point).
- Standard Bike and Flame Rider have had their Invincibility statistic increased by a value of 0.50 (2 points).
- Wild Wiggler has had its Invincibility statistic increased by a value of 0.75 (3 points).
- Mach 8 and Sports Coupe have had their Invincibility statistic decreased by a value of 0.25 (1 point).
- Teddy Buggy and Inkstriker have had their Invincibility statistic decreased by a value of 0.50 (2 points).
- Every tire except for Roller, Azure Roller, Off-Road, and Retro Off-Road has had their Invincibility increased by a value of 0.25 (1 point).
New characters:
- Diddy Kong shares statistics with Cat Peach, Inkling Girl, and Villager (Female), and uses medium vehicle size.
- Funky Kong shares statistics with Wario, Dry Bowser, and Heavy Mii, and uses large vehicle size.
- Pauline shares statistics with Rosalina, King Boo, and Link, and uses large vehicle size.
- Peachette shares statistics with Peach, Daisy, Birdo, and Yoshi, and uses medium vehicle size.
- 18 Mii Suits were added.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available worldwide now for the Nintendo Switch. The game was released back in April of 2017 has since sold more than 57 million copies.
