M4 MacBook Air Launch Slated For March ‘At The Earliest,’ Bringing Only Performance Gains To The Lineup With No Design Changes

Apple M4 MacBook Air launch in March

Apple unveiled the M3 MacBook Air lineup in March of last year, and according to the latest information, the company will stick to the same time frame this year. A prominent analyst claims that Apple will launch the new MacBook Air with an M4 chip in March "at the latest." While we are highly anticipating the machine, it will not come with any design variations compared to the current models, but the raw power boost from the M4 chip will be the highlight of the upgrade.

Apple to launch the M4 MacBook Air in March, possibly alongside the M4 iPad Air

In his latest Power On newsletter, industry analyst Mark Gurman claims that Apple will launch its next iteration of the MacBook Air with an M4 chip in March. If the launch time frame is true, we can safely presume that the company will not launch the machine on Wednesday after the launch of the redesigned iPhone SE 4. It was previously reported that the M4 MacBook Air models will launch in the Spring, possibly in April, alongside a handful of other products.

Gurman also reported a few days ago that the upgraded MacBook Air lineup could be introduced within the next few weeks. While no definite timeframe is available, we have to rely on the analyst's speculations for now. Apple accidentally confirmed the new M4 MacBook Air models in December when macOS 15.2 included files for an unreleased MacBook model with an M4 chip. We have been waiting for the new MacBook Air models ever since, and based on our understanding, Apple will not host a dedicated event unless there is something special to be announced.

We believe that the M4 MacBook Air will be announced via a press release, as the update will only bring internal upgrades to the mix of features. Even though it has been years since the design of the new MacBook Air was tweaked, it is still relatively new and keeps up with the industry and Apple's higher-end models as well.

Gurman claimed last week or so that the stock of M3 MacBook Air and iPad models is dwindling in Apple Stores around the world, which indicates that the new models are right around the corner. Apple will potentially launch the new M4 MacBook Air alongside the M4 iPad Air and the new entry-level iPad. We will keep you updated on the latest, so be sure to stick around.
