Ahead of the upcoming launch of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Director Masayoshi Yokoyama was featured in an interview published on Automaton Media. Yokoyama, a writer on Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, revealed some interesting facts about the game.

[Pre-orders are going] quite well – I think we might break a record in terms of pre-orders. At the moment, there are no plans for Infinite Wealth to come to Game Pass.

As such, it would not make sense for a game with high pre-orders to consider joining Microsoft's game subscription service. On the other hand, the recently released spin-off Like a Dragon: Gaiden was added to Game Pass from day one because the team wanted to invite new users to get familiar with the franchise ahead of the next mainline installment. Even so, Gaiden sold much better than expected, with Yokoyama saying it has doubled his own estimations so far.

Later in the interview, the Studio Director also stressed once again the massive size of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which he said will take 'never-ending' to a whole new level.

First of all, the main story is long. It features two main protagonists, and numerous other characters, so the amount of side stories related to each of them is considerable.

Then there’s “Dondoko Island” and “Bucket List,” which are packed with side content and substantial enough to be independent games depending on how you play them. But, on the other hand, both “Dondoko Island” and “Bucket List” are optional. After all, side stories in Like a Dragon titles have always been optional. You can progress through only the main story if you want to, and you can play the side stories to feel the volume too. This has remained unchanged with Infinite Wealth. Besides, if you attempt to clear everything, it may never end.

Meanwhile, fans of the old action combat style of the franchise will be happy to know that Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the first installment to feature the new turn-based combat (and new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga), has now received a brawler mod on PC.

User Jhrino uploaded the mod on the Nexus website a few hours ago. Before installing the brawler mod, you'll have to get the Shin Ryu Mod Manager.
