It's debatable whether we require a cable management system on PSUs themselves, but it looks like we are now going into advanced cable management mode.

Lian Li Launches RB Series Power Supplies That Bring Velcro Straps and Built-in Grooves for Advanced Cable Management

Popular PC case manufacturer Lian Li, just introduced cable management to the power supply units. The company today launched its new RB series PSUs, which offer an "integrated cable management system" that offers built-in grooves and velcro straps to manage excess cables. This is probably the first time we are hearing about cable management on PC power supply, since most wouldn't have ever thought of it.

As you can see in the image, the power supply unit has velcro straps on the sides, which have held the leftover/unconnected cables in one place. This way, the unused cables don't get tangled or pose difficulty when routing other cables. These velcro straps are available on three sides, ensuring the cables are properly managed while the unused ones can be tucked in the dedicated groove.

That said, the RB series PSUs fall into the budget category, but bring both ATX 3.1 and PCIe Gen 5.1 compliance, ensuring users can have full compatibility with modern platforms and GPUs. A dedicated 12V-2x6 connector is also provided, but that will be limited to 450W of power delivery since the RB series PSUs are available with a max wattage capacity of 750W. This makes the RB series ideal for mid-range GPUs such as RTX 5070 or RTX 5070 Ti.

The RB PSUs are semi-modular in design, bringing essential power cables attached to the PSU natively, while peripheral power cables can be connected as needed. These PSUs bring 80 Plus Bronze certification and can deliver up to 85% efficiency on typical loads. To ensure the system can run cooler and reliably, the PSUs utilize a 135mm FDB fan and ship with protection features such as OPP, OVP, SCP, OCP, UVP, and OTP.

The Lian Li RB series will be available in three different wattage capacities: 550W, 650W, and 750W. All of them come with a 5-year warranty and are priced as below (available in retail stores like Amazon, Newegg, Caseking, and Overclockers):

  1. Lian Li RB 550W: $49 on Amazon
  2. Lian Li RB 650W: $59 on Amazon
  3. Lian Li RB 750W: $69 on Amazon
