LG debuts UltraGear 27GX790A OLED gaming monitor, ready for pre-order for $999.99
LG has announced one of its newest monitor models: UltraGear 27GX790A for professional and enthusiast gamers, featuring an OLED panel. The monitor boasts a 27-inch screen size with a resolution of 2560 x 1440p and an ultra-low response time of just 0.03ms.
ITHome reports that the monitor is scheduled for release in early January 2025 and will be available overseas. The monitor has very thin bezels for an immersive gaming experience and has a sturdy stand for a wobble-free setup. The GX7 will have a high contrast ratio of 1.5M:1 and will feature DisplayHDR True Black 400 support for enhanced visuals.
The typical brightness will be 275 nits and the screen will feature anti-glare properties and low reflection features for eye protection. If you look closely at the panel from the sides, the panel is ultra-thin as well and can be adjusted via its ergonomic stand that supports height adjustment, swivel, and other adjustments.
The stand has a flat base and a routing hole for easier cable management. Not much has been shared regarding its specifications, but it appears to be a competitive offering from LG against the latest Sony InZone M10S monitor, which shares similar specs and has a price tag of $1100. However, the latter has dual modes, which is why it sells for a slightly higher price. Sony is still relatively inactive compared to LG, which has a wide range of display products in its catalog for gamers.
LG does have a similar OLED gaming monitor, but it is the flagship offering from the company, featuring a 32-inch display with dual modes: 4K at 240Hz and FHD at 480Hz. It is the UltraGear 32GS95UE-B, which sells for $1400 and the GX7 is $400 cheaper for those who are looking for something in between the 4K/240Hz and FHD/480Hz modes.
As per the report, even though LG is taking pre-orders for US customers, it's not yet known when the monitors will start shipping, and neither the monitor can be added to the cart.
