Not just RAM and SSDs, but laptops are now rising by double-digit percentages as well. The latest LG Gram lineup seems to be the latest victim of the volatile market.
LG Gram 2026 Laptop Models Reportedly See Price Increase by $133-$400 in South Korea; Another 13% Hike On Already Expensive Models
It's not uncommon to see price hikes on the existing hardware, but the trend doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. Yesterday, we reported Corsair's silent price hike of nearly $1100 on its flagship AI Workstation 300 desktop PC, and today, we have LG's silent price hike on its latest LG Gram laptop lineup, which will affect the price for the series globally.
The LG Gram 2026 series was already much more expensive than its previous lineup, as the product was affected by higher RAM and SSD prices. The laptop series launched at nearly 19% higher prices than the 2025 lineup and was selling for nearly 500K Won or US$333 higher price than its predecessor. However, the vendor didn't stop there and has now added another 13% increase on top of the earlier 19% hike.
As reported by eDaily, LG has raised the prices of LG Gram 2026 models by 200K-600K Won, which translates to around US$133-$400. The LG Gram 16 model received the $400 price hike, and the device now costs a whopping 3.54 Million Won or US$2361 in South Korea. It was launched at 3.14 Million Won (US$2094) this year, while its predecessor launched at a much lower 2.64 Million Won (US$1716). So, we are seeing a jump of nearly US$645, which is crazy.
We don't know the exact price hike for every model in the lineup, but according to the report, one should expect at least a $133 price hike. Obviously, higher-end models are likely to see significant price hikes over the lower-end models. The report doesn't explicitly blame RAM and SSDs for the price hike but as per the statement by an LG Electronics representative, the reason is clearly the higher RAM and SSD prices.
The industry as a whole is in a similar situation due to the increase in key component prices and the impact of exchange rates.

Similarly, we have Samsung raising the prices of its Galaxy Book 6 series, which have gone up by at least 175K Won or US$117. The Galaxy Book 6 Pro edition saw a significant price hike by up to 680K Won or US$483, while the Ultra edition has gone up by a whopping 900K Won or US$600. Remember that the Galaxy Book 6 Pro series was already priced $477 higher than its predecessor, and the latest price for the edition should be nearly $1000 higher than the price of the Galaxy Book 5 Pro.
