Zhaoxin's KX-6000G CPU has made its debut in Lenovo's X1 laptop which will be aimed at the domestic Chinese market.

Lenovo X1 laptop brings an ultra-lightweight design, weighing just 0.99kg and measuring just over 1cm, powered by Zhaoxin's KX-6000G Chip

Zhaoxin has announced its latest addition to its laptop catalog by unveiling the Lenovo X1 notebook. It's not a regular laptop with an Intel or AMD CPU, but it uses the KX-6000G processor, developed by Zhaoxin itself.

The Zhaoxin KX-6000G was introduced two years ago for the Chinese domestic market, but since the CPU lacks sufficient horsepower to compete with Intel and AMD, it mostly stayed out of most desktop systems and PCs. However, Lenovo has welcomed the processor and has offered an Intel/AMD CPU-based alternative to users in China.

As per Zhaoxin, the Lenovo X1 is equipped with KX-6000G to deliver 'high performance' and meet the demands of various productivity applications. It's certainly not very powerful to deliver high performance but can surely do basic productivity tasks. As per some previously leaked benchmarks, the processor is as powerful as the Intel Core i5 5015U by scoring 1035 points in a multithreaded test in Geekbench 5.

The Lenovo X1 looks pretty much like a regular Thinkpad X1 and brings a similar exterior made up of carbon fiber. However, it is ultra-thin and lightweight, measuring just 13.9mm and weighing only 0.99kg. The laptop is equipped with an OLED display, featuring a 2.8K resolution for high-fidelity image quality. On the top bezel, there is a good-quality camera, equipped with privacy and security features.

The keyboard is LED-backlit and has three adjustable brightness levels. Not much has been shared about its specs, and we are yet to know its RAM and storage configurations. It will be interesting to see how it will perform against other entry-level lightweight laptops, but keep in mind that it's not going to directly compete with them, as the processor is still far from perfect.

The Zhaoxin KX-6000G brings 4 cores and 4 threads clocked at 3.3 GHz and its iGPU supports DX12, OpenCL1.2, OpenGL4.6, and up to 4K display. Zhaoxin is on its journey to deliver faster processors and it has already showcased the KX-7000G this year, which is somewhat closer to the Intel Core i3 10100.
