Lenovo has announced a new model of its Legion Go handheld, which natively ships with the SteamOS, making for a more console-like experience.
Native Steam Support Comes To New Lenovo Legion Go Handheld Model, Powered By The Same AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme CPU
The Lenovo Legion Go handheld launched back in September 2025 and featured the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme SoC, offering powerful performance and even more. While the original handheld ran on the Windows OS, Lenovo is now introducing a new model that will ship with native Steam OS support.
Having SteamOS natively installed on the handheld would be a big deal since gamers, especially those who have been using Steam on PC, will have a very console-like and easy-to-access experience. Plus, the Steam Library of thousands of games will always be close to your hand and available to you. With Steam, you also have features such as Family Sharing and transferring files over a home network, plus the Steam Remote Play feature, which lets you remotely play a game that's already installed on your PC over the web.
Lenovo is keeping the specifications intact for its Legion Go Steam OS variant. It houses the same 8-core Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory, up to 2 TB of Gen4 SSD storage, & a 74WHr battery with 65W USB Type-C power input. The display is an 8.8" WUXGA OLED with 500 nits of brightness and a 144Hz refresh rate.
The Legion Go, Powered by SteamOS (8.8”, 2) is estimated to start at $1,199 USD with expected availability from June 2026.
