Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Announced by Samsung

The Galaxy Watch 5 and the Watch 5 Pro are my favorite smartwatches in terms of the overall design language. A large part of it has to do with the fact that I am a watch enthusiast and rarely prefer watches that are different from the norm. Sure, even in the traditional watch industry, you have various case designs, but the round case design is perhaps the most iconic, and that is what gravitates me toward the Galaxy Watch 5. Well, it might be changing with the Galaxy Watch 6 as we have some new information about Samsung's plans for this year's smartwatch.

According to the latest information from Ice Universe, the Galaxy Watch 6 will debut a curved display rather than the flat display that we saw on the Galaxy Watch 5.

As to why Samsung decided to go with the curved display rather than the flat display for the Galaxy Watch 6, we are not sure, but there is no denying that it looks cooler and more futuristic. I am more excited about looking at just how the company implements the rotating bezel with curved glass because that will be something to look forward to.

Now, the curved glass might worry some people because it does not have the same protection against drops, but if you remember, the Galaxy Watch 5 series featured a sapphire crystal instead of standard glass, and sapphire has excellent toughness. Many of the luxury watches you see also use sapphire crystal in shapes such as completely flat or even curved or domed, as we call them. Knowing this, I am more than confident that the Galaxy Watch 6 will not be failing anyone in terms of durability.

Sadly, at the time of writing, we don't know anything else about the Galaxy Watch 6. However, for those wondering when it will be coming out, we are hoping that Samsung would announce it somewhere during August 2023, as that is when the new generation of foldable phones will launch.

You can expect to hear a lot more about the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6, we will be sure to keep you posted about all the information that comes our way. Until then, stay tuned and let us know what you would like to see in Samsung's upcoming smartwatch.
