Samsung is now gearing up for the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 to be held in two days. The event is just around the corner, with hyped expectations for new changes mounting considerably. The tech community seems to be majorly hooked on the upcoming foldable, especially with the speculations giving away quite a few insights on the next models. Now, some last-minute leaks have emerged that took us by surprise and seem to defy earlier rumors, something that very few saw coming about the new foldable specifications.
Tipster now claims Samsung's foldable to sport a slimmer build, display parity, and an unexpected strategy change for the budget model
While the rumor mill has been churning for quite some time about Samsung's upcoming foldable lineup to be unveiled on July 9th, at the Unpacked event, earlier speculations seem to mirror the same specifications on what to expect from the new models. The latest leak by renowned tipster Roland Quandt of WinFuture seems to be bringing about a new twist in the tech giant's strategy, revealing specifications about the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE that contradict previous claims.
His first post seems to extract information from official promotional material and is more about the Galaxy Z Fold 7. As per the leak, the Z Fold 7 will be 8.9 mm thick when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded. What was alarming was the weight of the Fold 7, as the leak claims it would only weigh 216 grams, despite the larger screen. If this stands true, it could be even lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra and could make it the company's lightest foldable yet.
Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and have an 8-inch main display and a 6.5-inch cover display. We have sparse information on the camera details other than the 200 megapixel sensor. The model is said to come with a 4,000 mAh battery, which seems in keeping with the previous pattern of batteries used for foldable devices. When it comes to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE, not much information has been given out, and nothing has been spilled about the processor, but the display size is rather surprising.

According to the specification sheet shared, both models would offer the same screen dimension, a 6.9-inch main display, and a 4.1-inch cover display, emphasizing no size disparity between the standard and the budget model. This seems to contradict earlier speculations that suggested a smaller screen size for the FE model to help cut costs. If the latest leak does end up being accurate, it marks a major shift in Samsung's strategy when it comes to screen sizes in the budget models, and it seems like it would be working on other areas to bring down the cost.
Since there is a chance the specification table shared contains inaccurate details and the earlier leaks could stand true instead, all the information should be taken with a grain of salt. It could also be that Samsung does indeed surprise everyone during the Unpacked event on Wednesday.
