Now, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared his speculations for the iPhone 18 Pro as well as the iPhone 19 Pro models, which will feature massive camera enhancements.

Ming-Chi Kuo mentions in a blog post that both the iPhone 16 Pro models will get a tetraprism lens, but we can presume that Apple will incorporate an improved sensor on the Pro Max model. The smaller 6.3-inch variant will get the same sensor as the current Pro Max, indicating that the company will keep some differences between the Pro models this year. The analyst also shared details on the iPhone 17 Pro's camera improvements, which is slated to come with an upgraded tetraprism lens for an even better zoom and image quality.
What piqued our interest is that the analyst did not stop at next year's upgrades and continued to state that the iPhone 18 Pro will come with the same tetraprism lens as the iPhone 17 Pro Max. It appears that the company is aiming to be consistent with its upgrade cycle for the smaller 'Pro' models to come. If the news has any heft to it, the iPhone 18 Pro will come with a 1/2.6" 48MP Contact Image Sensor. We believe that the company will improve the camera hardware on the iPhone 18 Pro Max as well, which will be superior to its 6.3-inch counterpart.

Kuo also mentions that the 2027 iPhone 19 Pro Max will further see an upgrade to the tetraprism lens but does not state any exact details on the sensors and how it will be better than its predecessor. However, he claims that the upgrade will be more significant than before, allowing improved optical zoom capabilities and enhanced image quality. The company could use a smaller prism lens as part of its upgrade, which could ultimately lead Apple to call it something other than a tetraprism lens.
Note that the changes mentioned are based on initial speculations and since the final word rests with Apple, the end result could be different than what is being stated.
