Apple has ample months remaining before officially announcing its iPhone 17 series, which will once again comprise four models, but with a slight twist in the launch as the company is said to be introducing the iPhone 17 Air for the first time. Since a design change is a significant aspect of why customers spend a ton of money getting one of these as their daily drivers, it does not help that they have to wait a significantly long period to acquire one of these. Thankfully, a tipster shares that a shop located in China is making the future purchase conundrum easier by allowing customers to compare actual CAD models with their current iPhones to see if the upcoming range is worth upgrading to.
The iPhone 17 Air was one of the CAD models that was picked up for further inspection, sporting a significantly larger camera bump
A video has been posted by Majin Bu below, showing that an unnamed shop in China has possession of the iPhone 17 CAD models. These units are being shown to customers, so they have an opportunity to compare the design and other aesthetics with their current devices and draw a proper conclusion if it is worth picking one of these up. The shop’s name has not been disclosed, but it flaunts an embellished ambiance and is thoroughly well-maintained.
The tipster has not confirmed whether this approach has been commissioned by Apple or if the shop and its employees are showing physical iPhone 17 CAD models to customers on their own accord. If it is the latter, it is an excellent business strategy, as it not only favors the technology giant when it officially launches the new family, but also the shop, which will likely have various units and accessories stocked to the brim in the fourth quarter. Chances are that customers will flock to this place simply because this was the source where they got a first look at the iPhone 17 dummies.

While the iPhone 17 Air received most of the attention, we also noticed the remaining three models. One of them in the viewfinder sports a rear camera bar likely belonging to the ‘Pro’ versions, as these will be the only ones shipping with three primary sensors. As the base iPhone 17, that particular CAD unit was placed further back, sporting two cameras, at least from what we can tell.
