Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra will look a lot like the iPhone 16 Pro Max in terms of form factor

Apple is set to launch the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models next week, and we are expecting major changes coming to the flagships. On the other hand, Samsung is also gearing up to launch its rendition of the iPhone 16 Pro Max competitor, which has been rumored to offer more or less the same design aspects. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will launch early next year, but we have a solid idea of what it will look like. A leaker has stated his reasons why the iPhone 16 Pro Max will tell a lot about the Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of design.

Leaker shares details on the similarities between the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Galaxy S25 Ultra and says Samsung's flagship will be "more Ultra"

Leaker Ice Universe states on X that the iPhone 16 Pro Max's release will tell a lot about the design and size of Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra. He goes on to share that the two devices will feature the same display size, which is reported to be 6.9 inches for the iPhone. Samsung appears to be following the same route in terms of display size, but this is not the only aspect that the two devices will share.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max will match the Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of length, width, and height, making the two devices almost identical in terms of size and form factor. It was recently reported that the iPhone 16 Pro models will feature the slimmest bezels on any smartphone, and while it is a welcome addition, Samsung will soon join the bandwagon with its Ultra flagship. Currently, we are not aware of the official bezel thickness, so we would have to wait for the final release to make an informed conclusion.

The leaker also shared his preference for a non-intrusive display of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. He states that Samsung's flagship would be "more Ultra" due to the lack of a dynamic island-type hindrance to the experience. However, it all boils down to personal preference as the dynamic island has never bothered me because I prefer Face ID over an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Both flagships would have their own set of unique features, which will set them apart from each other and the rest of the market. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will potentially come with dedicated Apple Intelligence features with an upgraded A18 Pro chip for better performance, possibly better than the Galaxy S25 lineup. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will be powered exclusively by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, leaving the Exynos variant to the foldable devices. It remains to be seen how the two flagships will compete against each other next year, share your views in the comments.
