What announcements to expect from Apple at its Wonderlust iPhone 15 event in September

The iPhone 15 series is going official in just six days, and we are receiving a slew of leaks and rumors surrounding the device. Of course, it does make sense because the new iPhones are only among the most hyped devices that are scheduled for this year, so it is obvious why everyone is looking forward to seeing what Apple has in store for us. As always, this year, we will see four variants, and today, we have some rumored specs of the two base variants.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are just iPhone 14 Pro in a new body and slightly lowered specs

Based on information from Yogesh Brar, the iPhone 15 and the Plus variant do share some rumored specs of the upcoming iPhones, and there is some good news as well as some bad news, provided these specs are what you are going to get.

Based on the specs shared by Brar, the iPhone 15 will have a 6.1-inch Retina XDR OLED display with 60Hz, and the Plus variant will have the same specifications but on a larger 6.7-inch panel. Both phones will be powered by Apple's A16 Bionic and will feature up to 512GB storage. Taking care of the optics, we will have a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The phones will have support for UWB, Face ID, and Satellite SOS. Powering the base variant will be a 3,877 mAh battery, whereas the Plus variant will be powered by a 4,912 mAh battery. The phones will be available in Black, White, Yellow, Blue, and Coral.

Honestly, the specs are as close to accurate as they can be. We know Apple's strategy with the base iPhone models, and this should not be any different with the iPhone 15 and the Plus variant. They are both going to use the A16 Bionic found in the iPhone 14 Pro series and perhaps the same 48-megapixel sensor, which definitely is a good thing, but it does end up being a difficult decision for the potential users who are now stuck between buying a discounted iPhone 14 Pro or the new iPhone.

The new iPhone 15 series is due on 12th September and will be announced during Apple's Wonderlust event. I am really excited to see what Apple has to say about shifting to USB Type-C. We all know it is happening, we just have to wait to see how it actually happens.
