Despite no official driver that supports Intel MFG on the Alchemist series, this user was able to turn it on using a quick copy-and-paste method.
YouTuber Enables Intel Multi-Frame Generation on Arc A380 Using Simple Driver Modification; Unlocks Triple-Digit Frame Rates in Cyberpunk 2077
Intel's new XeSS3 Multi-Frame Generation feature has been announced for all the Arc GPUs, including the first generation of Arc graphics. However, the official driver for the older hardware hasn't been rolled out yet. It's a similar story for the Arc B series, which will soon get the XeSS 3 MFG support, but right now, users are trying workarounds to make the new MFG feature work on older Intel hardware.
Right now, XeSS 3 MFG works only on Panther Lake, but some users have already managed to get it working on GPUs like Intel Arc B580. Another YouTuber just followed the same steps, which required copying and pasting two DLL files from the Graphics_101.8362 to the Graphics_101.8425 folder. The YouTuber Alva Jonathan was able to turn on XeSS 3 MFG on the Arc A380, which is an entry-level Alchemist graphics card, launched nearly four years ago.
As you can see from the recording, the GPU-Z confirms the system is indeed running on the Arc A380 and the Intel Graphics software is clearly allowing him to switch between 2x, 3x, and 4x Frame Generation options. The user first showcases the performance of the GPU in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p, Low settings with XeSS 2 turned on with Ultra Quality preset. The GPU delivered nearly 50-60 FPS with these presets, but when he turns on XeSS Frame Generation, the frame rates start to hover between 130 and 150 FPS.
The only major caveat is that it induces a noticeable input lag, which makes the 4x Frame Generation feature problematic. Yes, the user also noticed some ghosting, but it is reportedly workable. Since Arc A380 is a low-end GPU, this was expected. Nonetheless, at 3x Frame Generation, the input lag was minimal and the FPS were still around 120. Considering the game is already intensive, but with the help of Intel's MFG, playing supported modern titles will be feasible even on older Intel GPUs.
