Finally, the game has received official support for Intel Arc GPUs as well as its upscaling technology and Frame Gen feature.
Pearl Abyss Adds Support for Intel Arc GPUs, XeSS 3.0, and Frame Generation for Crimson Desert Three Weeks After Launch
With the latest Intel Arc driver update released a few days ago, Pearl Abyss's Crimson Desert finally started to launch on Intel Arc GPUs, but the latest patches further optimize the compatibility. If you have been following the developments around the game, you might be aware that the Intel Arc GPUs weren't supported in Crimson Desert. After a huge backlash, Intel and Pearl Abyss started collaborating to ensure the game could run on the Arc GPUs.
It was surprising at first when we saw Pearl Abyss recommending applying for a refund request instead of advising users to wait for the official support, as if they weren't planning to support Intel Arc GPUs. Nonetheless, a few days after the launch, the developer announced that they would soon be launching an official update to ensure Intel Arc graphics cards, including both discrete and integrated solutions, could run the game.
Numerous users reported that the game is finally playable on Intel Arc GPUs, but it wasn't as smooth as one would expect. There were some glitches and bugs here and there, but expect the newer Patch version 1.03.00 to fix several of those issues. As per the release notes, a number of bugs have been fixed, and many optimizations were made in the gameplay, UI, graphics, and performance.
Under the Graphics & Settings release notes, one can see that the dev team has added support for Intel Arc GPUs, and the gaming experience should improve over time with continuous optimizations through game updates. Moreover, the Intel XeSS 3.0 and XeSS Frame Generation have been added in the Settings menu in the game for users to benefit from Intel's proprietary upscaling technology. AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 has also been added, and that sums up some major improvements in the latest update.
