Intel's Core Ultra 5 235, an entry-level Arrow Lake CPU, has been spotted at Geekbench with a total of 14 cores & up to 5 GHz clock speed.
Intel Core Ultra 5 235 Leads Over The Core i5-14600 In Single-Core Perf, Matches In Multi-Threaded Tests With Just 14 Cores at 5 GHz
Intel has several SKUs in the Arrow Lake lineup but only a few of them will launch this month. The non-K and non-KF editions are set to launch later and will have several SKUs from the Core Ultra 5, Ultra 7, and Ultra 9 sub-series. We already know some of the models and their specifications and today we get to see what the Core Ultra 5 235 CPU has on offer.
As revealed from the benchmark page, the processor brings 14 cores & 14 threads in total. These are a combination of 6 performance and 8 efficient cores, with a base clock of 3.40 GHz and a boost clock of 5.0 GHz on the P-cores. This is exactly what is revealed on the Geekbench results page. Moreover, it confirms the 24 MB of L3 cache and 3 MB of L2 cache.
One thing to notice here is that the CPU was tested on a custom proprietary Lenovo motherboard named '336F'. We don't know what chipset it comes with but since the Core Ultra 5 235 is a locked processor, it may feature an 800 chipset other than Z890.
The CPU, Intel Core Ultra 5 235 was tested today on Geekbench 6.3.0, which shows its single and multi-core performance. It scored 2634 points in single-core and 13293 points in multi-core tests.
Do keep in mind that these scores vary from test to test and while Geekbench isn't the best platform to measure a CPU's performance accurately, it helps us position CPUs in different tier lists. The Core Ultra 5 235 is one of the slowest Core Ultra 5 chips in the Arrow Lake lineup with the Core Ultra 5 245, Ultra 5 245K, and KF models at the top. There is another Core Ultra 5 processor, namely the Ultra 5 225, which is going to be slower than the Ultra 5 235.
Geekbench 6 ST Performance (Higher is Better)
Geekbench 6 MT Performance (Higher is Better)
In terms of performance, the single-core tests put the Intel Core Ultra 5 235 CPU ahead of the Core i5-14600. The 14600 comes with a 200 MHz higher boost clock and in multi-core tests, the CPU has a total of 20 threads versus the 14 threads on the Arrow Lake chip. The CPU comes out on par with the 14600 in these benchmarks which is a really good demonstration for the Arrow Lake offering.
The Intel Core Ultra 5 235 CPU should be launched alongside other non-K models like Core Ultra 5 245, Ultra 5 225, Ultra 7 265, Ultra 9 285, and others. The launch date isn't revealed yet but they will most likely end up on the market in the early part of 2025.
