Instagram appears to be working on several new features that should theoretically enhance the overall user experience. There are a lot of generative AI features coming to the app, and it is also working on bringing direct camera access to the lock screen of the upcoming Galaxy S24 series. However, this new feature focuses on extending your stories' live duration to a whole week.

The new My Week feature on Instagram is a must-have for all those who live their life on the internet

Now, we have learned about a new Instagram feature that will let you share your stories with your followers for a week. The new feature in the works is called "My Week," and as the name suggests, you can use this to ensure that your story remains live for a week. The best thing is that you can even remove any story you want or quietly add a story to the My Week only.

The feature is still not available to the general public, so it is going to take time before Instagram finally starts getting it. However, I am glad that this is coming out. This could prove to be useful in many different scenarios, including serving as a reminder of events that lasts for an entire week. This is also great for people who travel a lot and prefer documenting their lives on the platform, and I am sure there will be other use cases for it.

Instagram normally tests a lot of features at the same time, and based on that knowledge, it might take some time before this feature makes its way to the beta or the stable channel of the app, but rest assured, we will keep you posted as soon as it goes live.
