Injustice 2’s Atom Punches Above His Weight in a New Gameplay Trailer

Injustice 2 has dropped a new gameplay trailer for upcoming DLC fighter Atom, and I have a feeling this guy is going to be popular. For those unfamiliar with Atom, he has the ability to alter his size at will while retaining his regular strength. For the Marvel fans out there, he’s a lot like Ant-Man, except even more powerful. Here’s the official Injustice 2 Atom bio:

“Physics prodigy Ryan Choi took on the mantle of the Atom when his mentor—and original Atom—Ray Palmer mysteriously disappeared. Now armed with quantum shrinking technology, Ryan will use the subatomic power of the quantum bio-belt to seek out his lost friend and further the fight for justice.”

As you can see, Atom is definitely a unique fighter. In addition to being able to change size and dodge nearly everything thrown at him, he can also freeze opponents in place. I’m sure Atom must have some downsides, but, based on this trailer, he looks kind of hilariously OP. Like, did you catch the bit where he makes Bane punch himself in his own face? This character is going to be a nightmare to play against.

Atom will be the first Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 3 character released. Fighter Pack 3 also includes the villainous Enchantress, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. No, really. Watch the Fighter Pack 3 reveal trailer, below.

Injustice 2 is currently available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Players will be able to download Atom on December 12.
