The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom may not be a traditional role-playing game, but many are the genre's mechanics that can be found in the latest entry in the series, as some of Link's stats, such as life and stamina, can be enhanced during the course of the adventure.

Once you have decided to upgrade either your health or stamina, however, there is no way to quickly undo your decision. Thankfully, you will eventually be able to respec once you complete a side mission for a small price.

How to Respec in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Respeccing Link's hearts and stamina in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is not available right from the start of the game, but you won't have to wait too long to fix any mistake you may have made when offering four Lights of Blessing to the Goddess Statue.

To unlock the ability to respec hearts and stamina, you need to head to the Lookout Landing's shelter. Inside, talk with a woman with a broom called Jerrin, who will tell you that she is hearing a creepy voice coming from a tunnel nearby. Agree to help her, and head into it.

Most of the tunnel will be blocked by rocks, which you can destroy using bombs or a weapon fused with a rock. While there are multiple paths, the one you want to follow is the one to the right, so open it up until you reach a statue. Speak with it to learn about its troubled history with the Goddess. After this first exchange is done, the statue will steal one of your hearts.

If you speak with the statue again, it will offer to either give you back the heart it stole or exchange it for more stamina. No matter what you choose, you will now have unlocked the ability to respec Link in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Every time you want to do so, speak with the statue, who will take either a heart or some stamina and sell it back as either for 120 rupees.
