The new magical first-person shooter Immortals of Aveum gives players a wide array of abilities to help them out in combat, with some of the most powerful being the Fury spells. These special magical attacks can be activated by consuming mana crystals, and most of them are obtained by default as you make your way through the main campaign. That said, there are a pair of optional Furies, which are two of the most effective in the game. One of these is the Blue Vortex Fury spell, which allows you to draw enemies close together so you’re in a better position to smash ‘em with a big attack. Pretty useful stuff, particularly for some of the tougher late-game battles! Here’s how to unlock the Vortex Fury spell…
- Step 1 – The Vortex spell is located in a Shroudfane (optional challenge areas accessed via special portals) within the Oremen area. This is the sky island area you must traverse before you get into the Library of Akoth.
- Step 2 – Shortly before you enter the Library, near a portal, you’ll see a large blue orb sending out tendrils of magic. Go interact with it and it will disappear, revealing a golden chest and the Lattice Shroudfane. Hey, that wasn’t too hard! That said, the game doesn’t officially teach you how these blue orbs work until a bit later, so it’s easy to accidentally pass this Shroudfane by.
- Step 3 – Once inside the Shroudfane you’ll have to complete a challenge that revolves around surfing a tricky magic stream. This will require you to dodge through certain barriers and occasionally jump from magic stream to magic stream, sometimes using your grapple to do so. Once you’ve done this you’ll unlock the Vortex Fury spell.
There you go! Again, this one is easy to miss, but not terribly difficult to do once you know how and the Vortex Fury spell is definitely worth adding to your collection.
