Much like its predecessors, Resident Evil Requiem is filled with items to collect. During the course of the game, Grace and Leon will find many items with clear purposes, but also some whose use isn't clear from the get-go, such as the Antique Coins found all over the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center.

Here's how to use these Antique Coins to get some critical early upgrades in Resident Evil Requiem.

How to Use Antique Coins

Antique Coins are unique items whose in-game description (An old metal coin used for games. Can be exchanged for prizes in the parlor) suggests they have a critical use.

However, you have no way to use them when you find the first few ones in the Care Center. First, you will have to make some progress before you can reach the parlor mentioned in the item's description, located to the west of Central Hall. To open the door to the parlor, you will need the Red Jewel.

Inside the parlor, you can easily spot some devices to the left of the room, inside which some items are locked. These items can be obtained by inserting the required number of Antique Coins in each device

Item NameCostEffect
Hip Pouch3 CoinsIncreases item carrying capacity.
Stabilizer4 CoinsImproves gun handling and increases firepower. (Permanent Upgrade)
Steroids4 CoinsIncreases Maximum Health. (Permanent Upgrade)
Override Manual6 CoinsIncreases The Blood Collector's capacity by 50%.

Which Items Should You Get First Using Antique Coins?

While saving up Antique Coins for the Stabilizer and Steroids may be more enticing since they grant permanent upgrades, you really should get the Hip Pouch as soon as you get 3 Antique Coins.

The reason is simple. If you have already started exploring around, there's a good chance you have already hit your base inventory's limit.

As such, having two additional item slots is extremely beneficial, as you won't be forced to either leave items like bullets and green herbs behind or make constant trips to the nearest item box to pick up items that may be critical for story progression, such as the quartz devices Grace needs to escape from the Care Center.
