How to Hide Photos in Google Photos

Google Photos is one of the best apps that you can find; not only is it a default app on almost all Android phones but it also is packed with features that you would love to use. Everything ranging from direct integration with Drive as well as a surprisingly powerful editing suite, for a lot of people, Google Photos is the complete photo app. However, do you know you can hide photos in Google Photos along with videos?

Yep, I did not know either up until a few days ago when I got a notification that asked me if I want to set up a locked folder and that is when I realized how handy this feature can be. Now, I already have Samsung's Secure Folder and I never used it, so having this feature was not at all useful for me but a lot of people do use other phones than Samsung, and knowing how to hide photos in Google Photos can definitely be useful.

When you are setting up the locked folder, Google Photos warns you that the files you are hiding will not be backed up, and more importantly, in case you uninstall the app, you will also lose those files forever.

With that said, let's follow the guide.

Step 1: On your phone, open Google Photos.

Step 2: Once the app is open, select all the photos or videos you want to hide by long-pressing them, and then individually selecting them. You can also swipe across if you want to do it quicker.

Step 3: Tap the three-dot button on the top right corner and choose Move to Locked Folder.

Step 4: Set up the Locked Folder, and once it is setup, all your files will be moved there.

That is it, you have successfully managed to hide photos and other media in Google Photos. Remember, the app does give you a warning about how it is going to work, therefore, you should keep that in mind.
