Gold Bars are your gateway to riches in Crimson Desert, but buying them at the Bank to later invest will set you back a staggering 500 Silver. Fortunately, you can bypass this cost entirely by finding the Alchemy Recipe: Gold Bar. This formula is hidden at the top of the Spire of Insight, an optional tower located in Hernand.

Spire of Insight Location

The Spire of Insight is found to the south of Hernand, past Pororin Village.

Entering the Spire

When you reach the Spire for the first time, you will find it occupied by Goblins. While you can liberate the area, you don't actually need to.

What you need to do, instead, is burn the thorny brambles blocking the entrance. Use your Blinding Flash skill and use Focus Light (L1/LB) to burn to do so.

Solving the Riddles

To reach the Gold Bar Alchemy Formula, you must solve a series of riddles to power the lift.

The Gold Bar Formula And The Final Puzzle

Once you reach the final floor, you can find the Alchemy Recipe: Gold Bar pinned to one of the bookshelves, which allows you to create Gold Bars by any witch using certain ingredients. Look around the shelves to also find the Crafting Manual for Two-handed weapons

Finding the Gold Bar Alchemy Formula, however, is not the end of the quest. There's one more puzzle to solve to reach the top of the Spire.

The Reward

Solving the final puzzle and riding the lift will bring you to the top of the Spire, where you can activate an Abyss Gate leading you to the Chaos Forest, a floating island in the Abyss.
