Another Code: Recollection is the new Switch remake of the Nintendo-published DS and Wii cult-classic story-driven adventure games Another Code: Two Memories (known as Trace Memory in North America) and Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories. Beyond the expected visual updates, Another Code: Recollection also completely remixes the games’ puzzles, meaning even those familiar with the originals will find themselves on new ground.
We’ve already shown you how to get the three keys needed to access the clock tower in Another Code: R, but once you’re inside there, you’ll face another puzzle before you can actually restart the clock and ring the bell. The puzzle isn’t too complicated, but it can be easy to misinterpret. Don’t worry though, we’ve got you covered…
Note: While our Another Code: Recollection guides stay away from detailed plot points, they may still contain some SPOILERS. Proceed accordingly.
- Step 1 – Once inside the clock tower, head upstairs and you’ll find the machinery that actually makes it work. There are a trio of locks on the control device – you have to put the right key in each keyhole. This is pretty straightforward, as the lines above the keyholes point to the symbols. So, put the Sword Key in the left keyhole, the Moon Key in the middle, then the Flower Key in the right.
- Step 2 – Just turning the keys isn’t enough. Each of the three keyholes has a dial and numbers around it. You have to set the right combination. To find the numbers, look at the clock faces around the room. You’ll note each has a “protrusion” around the edge of the clock face, indicating a specific number in roman numerals. Also, take note that you are seeing these clock faces reversed from the inside.
- Step 3 – The three numbers you’re looking for are 9 (IX), 7 (VII), and 11 (XI).
And that’s all there is to it! The clock tower is once again functional – no need for any WD-40.
