Honor has finally decided to lift the curtains off the Honor X50 Pro, and it is an impressive phone for those who are looking for a device that is not too heavy on the pocket but still delivers a solid set of specifications. Granted, some of the hardware used in the phone is a bit old, but if you are in the market for something that still delivers solid performance, then this is a great choice.

At around $400, the Honor X50 Pro makes a compelling argument for itself as an excellent phone

The Honor X50 Pro brings a 6.78-inch screen on the front with a resolution of 2652x1200 pixels. The screen is not LTPO, which means that it can either run on 60Hz or 120Hz. However, there is 1920Hz PWM dimming as well as 10-bit color support. The Honor X50 Pro is running on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which is older than what most phones are using, but given the starting price of the phone, it makes a lot of sense to use this. The processor still manages to hold up in almost all the daily tasks, so you really do not have to worry much about anything.

Powering the Honor X50 Pro is a decent 5,800 mAh battery that can charge at 35W. For some reason, Honor has decided not to go with the super-fast charging speed that other companies are boasting about and has decided to stick to something that can be best described as modest.

On the back, you are getting a dual camera setup, with the primary sensor being a 108-megapixel sensor with f/1.75 aperture and a 1/1.67-inch sensor. The Honor X50 Pro also has a 2-megapixel unit and an 8-megapixel unit on the front for selfies. Honestly, I do not understand why more and more smartphone companies are opting for these 2-megapixel cameras when they can simply remove them altogether.

As far as the pricing is concerned, the Honor X50 Pro is now available in China for 2,799 Yuan, which roughly converts to $400. Honestly, for the price, I think the phone is pretty compelling, provided you can buy it outside China. Some corners are cut here, which is an obvious thing with more affordable phones, but overall, the phone delivers a decent package for anyone looking to get their hands on it.
