Helldivers 2 Tackles Connection and Matchmaking Issues While Riding High on Steam Charts

Helldivers 2 patch 1.000.13

Sony and Arrowhead Studios’ Helldivers 2 launched last week on PC and PS5, the rare PlayStation PC/console simultaneously release, and things are working out quite well for the throwback co-op shooter. Hellblade has been a consistent top 10 presence on the Steam charts, with the game peaking at over 200 thousand (203,312 to be exact) players yesterday.

All that said, it hasn’t been entirely smooth sailing – as is often the case with online games, particularly unexpectedly popular ones – there have been some issues with matchmaking, maintaining connections, and other issues. Thankfully, Arrowhead have been working tirelessly, already issuing two patches on PC and PS5 to address problems. The first, released on Monday, addressed some login issues and a bug that saw people not receiving their proper rewards (Arrowhead promises a future “increased reward” event to make up for that). Here are the notes for patch 01.000.005

Another update was issue today, which focuses on reducing disconnects, improving matchmaking, and general game stability. Here are the notes for patch 01.000.006

Arrowhead is promising even more improvements to matchmaking going forward, so if you’re still encountering issues, hopefully they’ll be revolved soon.

Helldivers 2 can be played on PC and PS5. Anybody out there enjoying the game? Still running into problems or have they been mostly resolved?
