While 2026 has already seen some major releases like Crimson Desert, Resident Evil Requiem, and Marathon, to name a few, the biggest release of the year, and the biggest release the video game industry has seen for years is yet to come, as we all wait for GTA 6 to arrive later this year at its previously announced November 19, 2026 release date.
But at the time of this writing in April 2026, there's still plenty of time for things to go wrong for Take-Two and Rockstar from now until then, and concerns of another delay linger each day. That said, a new claim from the GTAVI O'Clock podcast suggests that the November 19 release date is not changing, and that there will not be another delay announced.
"The chance of there being another delay, I'm pretty confident from the things that we've been hearing that there's no delay incoming," said host James Jarvis.
Even if this cannot be classified as anything other than a rumor, it is a positive sign to hear from a long-running and reputable source that the game is expected to make the release date we all have marked down on our calendars.
That said, release dates are the kind of thing that can change at any time. And it wouldn't be the biggest surprise if those same sources that the GTAVI O'Clock podcast is speaking to for their information later report that a delay is actually coming. But that's not the report today, so for now, we'll continue to look towards the positive, and hope that come Christmas this year, we'll be spending it playing GTA 6.
