Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to feature a female protagonist, but it isn't going "woke" because of it, according to the man who voiced one of the main characters in the previous entry in the series.

Speaking with IGN as part of its GTFM video series, Ned Luke, who voiced Michael in the fifth entry in the series, said that the new entry in the Rockstar Games' franchise isn't going "woke" because it has a female protagonist, calling those thinking so clowns. Lucia looked good in the reveal trailer, Ned Luke continued, adding that this isn't the first time the series has had a female protagonist.

While a vocal part of the fanbase may be complaining about her, the Grand Theft Auto 6 female protagonist seems to have been generally well-received. What her role will be in the game remains to be seen, as the reveal trailer did not show much of the game's story, featuring only a general introduction to Vice City and the setting.

What the Grand Theft Auto 6 reveal trailer made clear, on the other hand, is how much of a visual jump it will be over its predecessor. This massive increase in visual quality was further highlighted by some trailer recreations made using GTA V's engine.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and is scheduled for a 2025 release. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
